2012 is the 50th Anniversary of the iconic 105 series Alfa Romeo sports car. The 105 Series were a range of coupes made by the Italian manufacturer from 1963 until 1977, the basic body shape shared by all models was designed by the great Giorgetto Giugiaro for Bertone as one of his first major projects.

The 105 series coupe featured the GT (Gran Turismo) model description, which was common to all models in one form or another.

Join with us in celebrating the rich history of the Alfa Romeo 105 Series at Auto Italia Canberra 2012

40th Anniversary of the Maserati Khamsin

2012 will also celebrate the famed Maserati Khamsin sports car which was originally introduced as a Bertone prototype in 1972 at the Turin Motor Show.  In 1973 it was put on display at the Paris Motor Show where it was formally badged as a Maserati.

Production of the Khamsin spanned from 1974 - 1982 with only 430 vehicles ever produced, unfortunately even with the beautiful design Khamsin did not give Maserati the success it needed.

The Khamsin is remembered for its unique design features, low entry, top speed potential and the classic deep hum of the engine. A rare and beautiful edition to Italian car history.

                          100 Years of Bertone Design

                          Picture
Giovanni Bertone established the Bertone company in 1912 esblishing a market for horse drawn vehicles. Even in an age where cars were somewhat rare, Bertone still managed to established his reputation at a young age and was regarded for his excellent accuracy, quality and solidity.

As decades rolled on, the Bertone company was passed down through various family members who went on to design some of the most famed and beautifully engineered vehicles in history. Some which included the Alfa Romeo Guilia Sprint, Fiat Arbarth 1500 Coupe, Lamborghini Diablo, Maserati Khamsin and the Jaguar Pirana to name a few.

Bertone today, is 100 years old and it still continuing to expand their expertise and capabilities in key motoring sectors.
